GrangeCon13 2024

GrangeCon13 will be held at the Eden Resort April 19-22, 2024.   We reserved a 2-bedroom Villa which is on the 2nd floor in Bldg.4. Walk up only. Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, hot tub, gym, restaurant. 

The Villa has a full kitchen: stove, oven, large refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher.  The main living area has a large round dining table with 6 chairs, a sofa and a comfy side chair.  There is a TV over the fireplace with ports for DVD player, etc.  Other amenities include a full-size washer and dryer, a half bath, and coat closet.  This unit is not as spacious as the Premier Suite we have had the last couple years. 

Location:  

Bldg. 4.  Room # will be provided later.  There will be GRANGECON signs on the door.

COVID Policy:  

There is a COVID policy.  Be sure to look at it before booking.  It is listed in the left hand menu.

Registration fee:

Pre-Reg is open until April 14th.

Pre-Reg is $20 per person for the weekend, available via PayPal. 

Registration at the door $25 per person for the weekend or $13 per person for a day.  We do not accept credit cards at the door.  Cash or check only.

GrangeCon13 will begin on Friday April 19 at 4:30pm. We have the rooms through Monday morning but the only thing happening Monday is traditional breakfast at Arthur’s and cleaning up the suite.  Friday evening usually finds early attendees having dinner together. In the past it was as Garfield’s but unfortunately Garfield’s is closed and the new restaurant is dreadful.  We will go to a local restaurant, possibly Scooters. All are welcome to join us!

Bake Off: 

If you are interested in participating in the Bake Off or are just curious to find out more about it please check the link in the left hand column marked ‘Bake Off’.  Bake Off will be Saturday evening.  If you want to enter follow the link on the left to let us know what facilities you will need, ie will you need to use the stove top or oven.  If the oven, how long and at what temp.  Fun to enter, fun to EAT, fun to win!

Just Fun Stuff:

• There will be the usual faux program book complete with puzzles.    

• Bill may host Name That Tune again. Not confirmed yet.

•  Paul may host Mozart or Pokemon.  Not confirmed yet. 

• Book Group: Witch King by Martha Wells 

• Costume Parade - bring your favorite SF or Fantasy themed costume and join the parade through the hotel! This will happen Saturday or Sunday afternoon or possibly both!  It is fun to watch the reactions of hotel guests.

Gaming - Bring a game to play, table top or video.  If video game you will need to bring console as well. 

There are always movies, food, board games, food, video games, food, pool, food.  Do you sense a repetitive theme here?  

Food - we provide ice tea and some munchies but we welcome anything you would like to contribute: a bottle of soda, some veggies or fruit or cheese, a bag of chips, cookies, whatever.  The more the merrier!
